Celebrating 25k + important news!

Greetings, everyone! 🌻

Lovewood has surpassed 25.000 downloads recently, and I cannot thank you enough for your continued support.

As for the big news: Many players over the years have voiced that they wished Lovewood were a longer game. I'm currently cooking something up that may scratch this particular itch: a sequel to Lovewood!

✨ "You are the healer of the fairy town of Liebwald, having remained in the solitude of your office for months as to not neglect your duty. When you return from your self-imposed isolation, it's to reconnect with your friends in town - But as you soon find out, many of them are going through struggles that require their own kind of healing. Whose hearts will you mend?" ✨

Lunchbreaks in Lovewood is the work title of this new game, and I hope to complete it sometime in 2025 if all goes well. It's my biggest project yet, bringing back all of the original Lovewood cast in addition to a few newcomers!

The script and most of the backgrounds are already complete, but I still have plenty of sprite and CG work ahead of me. Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you'll take the new game for a spin once it's finished. If you follow this account, you will see the release notification in your Itch feed as soon as the game is released! If you're on Tumblr, you can also follow the dev blog where I occasionally share updates and new assets as they are completed.

In the meantime, why not explore the spinoff games in the setting that explore the Lovewood characters more deeply?

Stay warm out there,

- Dev 🍀

Oh this is so exciting! I really enjoy your work so I'm excited to see something more long form. How will the canon of your previous work be handled? Any chance of being able to "import" different endings of invisible seams and the like? Or are you going to be going a different way with it all?

Thanks for asking! After giving this quite some thought I decided that in terms of Invisible Seams, the players will have a choice in the start that determines which ending Moth experienced, if they played the game (otherwise it's implied that he befriended Caesar but hasn't started dating him). As for the Lovewood canon, I'm going off of the platonic ending in which the healer hasn't dated anyone yet, and the events of Lunchbreaks will take place 1 year after the events of Lovewood. :>
